In order for the Zest Nasal CPAP Mask to optimally deliver effective sleep therapy, it needs to be properly secured with the proper headgear. This headgear, specifically designed for the Zest mask, will comfortably secure the mask so that it can maintain a seal for CPAP.
Sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) deprive many people of much needed rest. Patients that suffer from OSA have trouble sleeping because their airway muscles relax and collapse while they are sleeping, causing difficulties in breathing, which disrupts sleep and causes the patient to feel constantly fatigued. Continuous positive air pressure (CPAP) applied to the patient’s airway can keep the airway open so that the patient can breathe more regularly while sleeping and can therefore be better able to maintain sleep. CPAP is applied to the airway via a seal formed by a mask interface such as the Zest mask. It is necessary for the mask to be secure and also be comfortable for the patient to get the most out of sleep therapy.
The headgear plays a big role in keeping the mask secure. Damaged headgear may not be providing the best support for the mask and can compromise the efficacy of the therapy. To get the most out of your sleep therapy, always make sure the headgear is in top working order and replace damaged headgear immediately.
