TrueBlue Gel Nasal CPAP Mask with Headgear

The TrueBlue Gel Nasal CPAP Mask is the combination of multiple technologies that form a truly fantastic mask for CPAP and BiPAP therapy. The mask has a soft blue gel cushion that works together with a thin silicone outer membrane to create a comfortable self-adjusting seal. A freeform spring between the cushion and the mask allows the system to absorb movement like a small shock absorber, consequently minimizing the possibility of the seal breaking if the patient moves during the night.

Forming a comfortable seal is important for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Sleeping is a challenge for patients with obstructive sleep apnea because of the difficulties they face in breathing during sleep. When these patients are asleep, their airway muscles become very relaxed and collapse, obstructing the upper airway and interrupting breathing.  These breathing interruptions cause the patient to awaken multiple times during the night.

Continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, applied to the patient’s airways via a mask interface keeps the airways open and allows the patients to breathe freely while sleeping, thus allowing them to sleep restfully through the night. The TrueBlue mask provides both the a good seal and the comfort that patients need to get the rest that they require.

The forehead pad features a premium Blue Gel cushion for added comfort. The exhalation ports are angled so that the exhaled air is directed away from bed partners. The angled micro-ports minimize exhalation noise, guaranteeing a quieter overall operation of the system.

Providing a basis of stability, the comfortable headgear features upper and lower straps that come together into a single back panel. The lower straps have talon clips that can be easily unhooked to remove the mask. The talon hook also allows the mask to be removed without the need to change the strap adjustments. Once a perfect headgear fit has been established, the strap settings do not need to be adjusted again upon removal or putting on of the mask.

To obtain the best fit, disconnect the talon clip from the mask. Attach the tubing from the CPAP or BiPAP machine to the mask swivel. Place the mask and headgear over the head and turn on the CPAP machine so that the self-adjusting seal can form.  Attach the talon clip to complete the headgear support system. At this point, you can evenly adjust the headgear straps to stabilize the mask. Over-tightening the mask to obtain a good seal is not necessary because the Auto Seal system will create a good seal on its own.

The mask should just lightly rest on the face. Adjust the crown strap located on the back panel to make sure the mask and headgear are properly seated on the face. The fit and seal should be comfortable. Clearly, getting a perfect fit and a secure seal is just that easy.
