3M Company now offers Coban™ Latex-free Self-Adherent Wrap, a product with the combined function of tape and an elastic bandage in one. Its special adhesive property makes it stick only to itself, eliminating the need for tape, clips, or pins to properly secure wound dressings.
This adhesive property further allows you to easily re-apply and re-position the bandage when you need to adjust the tightness of the wrap without worrying about sticky adhesives or loss of adhesion. With this self-adherent wrap, wound dressings are more convenient to apply and keep in place.
The latex-free wrap is gentle on skin as well. Its rubber-free material is suitable for those with allergies to latex proteins. Because it has none of the typical adhesive found in ordinary tape, it doesn’t stick to hair and leaves no sticky feeling or residue, making removal much easier and less painful.
Coban™ Latex-Free Self-Adherent wraps are not only convenient – they are also comfortable and easy to use. Its lightweight feature allows the bandage to follow the natural contours of the patient’s body. Made with breathable material it prevents buildup of moisture, allowing some air through the bandage during treatment, which can help speed up healing.
